Walt Disney World Update - Company Presents Plans to Reopen Parks!
"If you can dream it, you can do it.” - Walt Disney
Hello everyone! Today I have an exciting Walt Disney World update for all of you! Since it’s closure due to COVID-19, aka the coronavirus, Walt Disney World fans have had no idea when The Happiest Place on Earth would be back up and running again. Well that all changes today my friends! This morning, the Walt Disney Company announced that they will begin a phased reopening starting on July 11th with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom being the first parks to open up their doors. Now you may wondering, what about Epcot and Hollywood Studios? Don’t you worry, those parks will be opening just a few days later on July 15th!
Now just because the parks are set to open on up on July 11th doesn’t mean everything is going to go right back to the way it was before COVID-19. Things are definitely going to look a little bit different than what we are used to when visiting Walt Disney World. For examples, fireworks, parades, character meet and greets and other events that require gathering will continue to be suspended for now.
First and foremost, when the parks reopen, guests will be REQUIRED to get a reservation to attend a park on a specific day. This is very important. You and your guests must get a reservation in order to enter the park or you will be turned away.
Next, there are several safety protocols that are being implemented throughout the parks. Temperature screenings, facial coverings, social distancing guidelines, limited contact enhancements, and contactless purchasing are just to name a few. Disney is also placing additional hand sanitation and hand washing locations throughout each and every park to make sure guests are as safe as possible. They are also looking into the idea of “relaxation zones” where you can take your mask off in specific controlled areas.
What do you guys think about all of this? Are you happy with the company’s plans to begin a phased reopening on July 11th? Or do you think Disney is jumping the gun and opening its doors too early? I would love to hear your thoughts on this Disney World update, so please leave them in the comment section below. Stay safe and healthy!
